MAX1680ESA+, DC/DC Adjustable Charge Pump Voltage Converter, 2V to 5.5V in, -5.5V to -2V/125 mA out, NSOIC-8
The MAX1680ESA+ is a 125mA, frequency selectable, switched capacitor voltage converter in 8 pin SOIC package. It is an inductorless switched-capacitor voltage converter either inverts an input voltage of +2.0V to +5.5V or double it while supplying up to 125mA output current. It has a selectable-frequency option that allows the use of small capacitor of 4.7µF. With their high output current capability, this charge-pump device is suitable replacements for inductor-based regulators which require more expensive external components and additional board space. The device equivalent output resistance (typically 3.5ohm) allows them to deliver as much as 125mA with only a 440mV drop. A shutdown feature reduces quiescent current to less than 1µA. Typical applications include local negative supplies, interface power supplies, op-amp power supplies and MOSFET bias.
